New Zealand Wins Silver for the Third Year in a Row
The New Zealand team of John Chen (captain), Gemma Potaka, Stanley Roache, Max Ferguson and Geore Zhang won through to the final of the International Young Physicists’ Tournament held in July in TianJin, China. In the final against Austria and Korea the team fought hard but were not quite up to wrestling the gold medal from Korea, eventually having to settle for silver medals. New Zealand is the only country to achieve the distinction of winning silver medals in each of the last three years.
